At fresch architects, we are dedicated to providing client-focused service through thoughtful design. Our team, led by partners Emma Freeman, AIA, D.Arch, LEED AP, and Sheldon Schroeder, AIA, brings over 30 years of diverse experience in managing architectural projects across various sectors including commercial, educational, health care, commercial interior, institutional, retail, civic, and residential architecture. We believe each client's project is unique and approach every project without preconceived ideas.

Our design process is rooted directly in the client's project needs. We take the time to understand the client's vision, needs, and budget, and we believe that design is not something applied or extraneous to a project. Our most creative and efficient design solutions are driven by client needs and budget challenges. We use detailed building systems and materials knowledge, as well as intelligent design tools such as building information modeling (BIM) software, to quickly and efficiently develop design concepts responsive to the client's program.

Sheldon Schroeder, AIA, and Emma Freeman, AIA, D.Arch, LEED AP, bring a wealth of experience in managing the architectural process, which requires collaboration among the owner, end-users, architect, engineers, and contractor to fulfill a common purpose of an efficient and functional program delivered with artistry and craft. They have worked on projects in Texas, Kansas, Hawaii, Nicaragua, and Antarctica, making them uniquely qualified to handle projects of any size or complexity.

Design Philosophy

Sheldon's design philosophy respects and embraces the challenges of designing and building in our region. He believes good design addresses a project's challenges honestly, efficiently, and creatively. This philosophy is equally applicable to the largest and the most modest of projects. Emma values and emphasizes the element of craft in architecture, which she believes is essential for creating spaces that are both functional and beautiful.
