Living Savior Lutheran Church

Living Savior Lutheran Church is a community of faith that is grounded in the teachings of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. We believe that God's love is shown in the life, death, and resurrection of his Son, Jesus Christ. We believe that God offers a free gift of eternal life to all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the gift is given to all who receive it through the Holy Spirit, and we gather for worship, study, fellowship, and service as a response to God's love for us.

Our History

Living Savior Lutheran Church was started in the spring of 1983 by a group of devoted Christians who met in individual homes in Fairfax Station, Virginia. Under the guidance of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield and Pastor Heino, the congregation moved to an office building in Burke Centre. With the group rapidly growing, the congregation moved their Sunday worship to Fairview Elementary School in Burke. In 1985, the congregation called Pastor Fred Klein, who led the congregation in building a multipurpose room, several classrooms for a Preschool and Kindergarten, a playground, administrative offices, and a parking lot on over 7 acres of land on Ox Road. After Pastor Klein retired in August 2006, Living Savior called Pastor Andrew C. Lissy, who was installed as the second pastor of Living Savior in January 2007. Under Pastor Lissy's leadership, Living Savior dedicated their long-awaited sanctuary in November 2010, which almost doubled the seating capacity.

Our Services

At Living Savior Lutheran Church, we offer a variety of services and programs to help our members grow in their faith and serve their community. Our worship services are held every Sunday morning at 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM. We also offer Sunday School for children, youth, and adults at 9:45 AM. Our Sunday School program provides a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn about God's love and His Word. We offer Bible studies for all ages and stages of life, providing opportunities for members to deepen their understanding of the Bible and its teachings. We also offer Sunday School classes for confirmation, high school students, and adults.

In addition to our worship services and educational programs, we offer a variety of ministries that serve the needs of our congregation and community. We have a vibrant music ministry that includes a choir, handbell choir, and instrumentalists. We also have a strong outreach ministry that serves the needs of our local community and supports mission work around the world. We believe that serving others is an essential part of our faith journey, and we encourage our members to use their gifts and talents to serve others.

Living Savior Preschool

At Living Savior Lutheran Church, we believe that children are a gift from God, and we are committed to providing a nurturing environment where children can learn and grow. Our Preschool program is designed to expand children's perception of God, of other people, and of the physical world in which God has placed us. We offer a variety of programs for children aged 2-5, including half-day and full-day programs. Our curriculum is based on the latest research in early childhood education and is designed to promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

Our Beliefs

At Living Savior Lutheran Church, we believe that the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We believe that salvation is a free gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit works in us to convict us of our sin, to lead us to faith in Jesus Christ, and to empower us for service. We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, called to proclaim the Gospel, administer the sacraments, and serve others in love.

Our Mission

Living Savior Lutheran Church's mission is to know the love of Christ and serve God so that the Holy Spirit may work through us to bring others to Christ. We seek to accomplish this mission by:
