Our doctors, Dr. John Kempton and Dr. Taylor Rawson, are committed to delivering the highest level of care to every patient, using the latest techniques and technology available.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services designed to cater to the unique needs of our young patients. From infant exams to preventative and restorative treatments, sedation dentistry, and hospital dentistry, we strive to provide comprehensive care to every child who walks through our doors.

Infant Exams

At six months of age, babies start losing their baby teeth and this milestone marks the beginning of a lifetime of oral health care. Our doctors recommend that children visit our office no later than their first birthday for an infant exam. During this visit, we evaluate the overall development, hygiene, diet, and oral habits to ensure a healthy start.

Preventative and Restorative Treatment

Our doctors are trained and qualified to treat every aspect of pediatric oral health. Preventative services include cleanings, x-rays, oral exams, and sealants. For restorative treatments, we provide various options, including composite (white) fillings, amalgam (silver) fillings, stainless steel crowns, pulpotomy or pulpectomy (root canal therapy), and extraction, if necessary. We believe in explaining every treatment option clearly and thoroughly to our parents.

Sedation Dentistry

Sometimes, young children may feel anxious or apprehensive about dental visits. At Children's Dental, we understand this concern and offer nitrous oxide, also known as "laughing gas, " to help calm children with mild to moderate anxiety. For children who are very apprehensive or have extensive treatment needs, conscious sedation may be necessary. We use "sleepy juice" or additional oral medications to help relax your child. This type of sedation makes your child feel drowsy, but they will remain conscious.

Hospital Dentistry

In rare cases, children may require more extensive treatment that cannot be performed in our office. For these situations, our doctors have privileges at Yuma Regional Medical Center to perform the necessary treatment safely in one visit.

School Programs

At Children's Dental, we believe that patient education is crucial in promoting good oral health. To achieve this goal, we offer two school programs for pre-school and grade-school aged children. You can choose between two options: either scheduling a time for a school/class to visit our office or scheduling a presentation from our staff. Both options are designed to teach children about teeth, nutrition, oral hygiene, and the importance of regular dental care.
