Our Story

Founded in 1988 by Lawrence C. Hornbeck, our firm has been dedicated to providing exceptional architectural design services to our clients. With the mentorship of his father, Christopher Hornbeck joined the firm, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his time at URS Corporation, consistently ranked as the #1 Design Firm in the country. As the firm celebrated its 25th anniversary, Christopher assumed principal leadership and reorganized as Hornbeck Architects.

Our Team

Our team is led by Christopher Hornbeck, a registered architect with extensive experience in all areas of architectural practice. Christopher's professional background includes hundreds of new custom homes and home additions/renovations, as well as a range of project types. He is also an active member of the architectural community, having taught architecture and construction at Baker College and served on the Board of Directors for Boulder Ridge Condominium Association.

Our History

Our firm has a rich history, spanning over 35 years. From its inception in 1988 to the present day, we have been dedicated to delivering exceptional architectural design services to our clients. Some notable milestones include:

• 1988: Lawrence C. Hornbeck founded the firm of Lawrence C. Hornbeck & Associates in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
• 1998: The firm celebrated its 10th anniversary and relocated to expanded offices in Troy, Michigan.
• 2002: Christopher Hornbeck graduated summa cum laude from Lawrence Technological University with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture.
• 2008: Christopher became a registered architect in the state of Michigan.
• 2013: The firm celebrated its 25th anniversary and reorganized as Hornbeck & Associates Architects, P.C.
• 2023: We celebrate our 35th anniversary and mark our 25th year as Hornbeck Architects.
