At Eddington Eyecare, we are a dedicated team of Christ-centered professionals committed to offering the highest quality vision care to each of our patients. Our Services

Eddington Eyecare is a full-service primary care optometry practice, including pediatric optometry, contact lens fitting, and the treatment and diagnosis of ocular disease. Our inventory of over 300 frames allows a style choice for even the most discriminating taste. We do not warehouse frames, so we can bring our patients the latest models every few months as they are released. Our business is located North of the baseball field (UC Health Park) across Barnes, near Pizza Hut. The address is 6130 Barnes Rd, Ste 128, adjacent to Pediatric Associates.

Insurance and Discounts

Eddington Eyecare accepts most major insurance plans, including TRICARE, Veteran's Choice, EyeMed, VSP, FEP Blue Vision, Davis Vision, Aetna, Cigna, Medicare and most Humana. We are proud to offer a 10% "Defender" discount on all spectacle and contact lens purchases to police, firefighters and military (active and retired) and their families. We believe in supporting those who risk their lives to defend us, and we are committed to serving them with the highest quality of vision care.

The Eddington Eyecare Exam Experience

An eye exam at Eddington Eyecare will leave a lasting impression. Preliminary testing performed by our skilled optometry technician includes visual acuity, depth perception, ocular motility, peripheral vision, color vision, autorefraction (estimates your spectacle prescription based solely on your eye shape) and pre-glaucoma testing (yes, the air puff!). Once in the exam room, you should first take notice of the 20 foot eyelane, at the end of which is the latest in flat-screen letter display technology. Our 20 foot eyelane allows for the most accurate prescription, unlike the 10 foot eyelanes with mirrors that many optometry practices use. Our easygoing refraction technique ensures that patients feel at ease and confident in their prescription. Included in the comprehensive exam is also a low contrast/night vision test, which can aid in the early detection of diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataracts.

Our Frames and Lenses

We offer an extensive collection of men's, women's and children's frames, consistently updating our inventory with the latest styles on the market. We work directly with insurance partnered, nationally recognized, optical labs which are hand-selected by our dispensing staff to give the widest lens options at the most affordable prices. We offer several packages and features to get you the highest quality lenses at the best price. Our lens choice begins with the best option for your lens material. We provide CR-39 plastic as our most affordable option, but may recommend polycarbonate which is a lighter, thinner more durable lens dependent on individual needs. We also dispense trivex and other higher index plastics, which are especially useful for thinning lenses in stronger prescriptions. These materials can be cut into single vision lenses, bifocal or no-line, referred to as progressive, bifocals. Certain additives are available for each lens as well, including photochromic, or transition, lenses which darken in sunlight to give a sunglasses-like effect outside.
