Our Story

The journey began in 1905 when Smith & Cilek established a small hardware store in downtown Iowa City. Over the years, the business evolved, changing its name to Lenoch & Cilek Ace Hardware in 1920. In 1961, we joined forces with Cotter & Co., and later became part of the True Value Co-operative, ensuring access to a wider selection of products at competitive rates. In 2001, we proudly became an affiliate of the Ace Hardware Corporation.
