Our Story
Founded by Yo Akino, Uchi opened its doors in Berkeley, CA in the Spring of 2018. When The Wooden Duck, a long-time Bay Area furniture company closed, Uchi was offered the opportunity to work with the factory that produced their popular teak furniture lines. We have since expanded upon these collections, adding new designs and offering limited custom pieces. Our store is a curated selection of innovative and sustainable home goods and accessories made by local and global artisans.

He is also super creative and spends his downtime at the store exploring new and different endeavors.
