Our company has come a long way from its humble beginnings as Delmont Builders Supply, Inc., established in 1960. Today, we take pride in our reputation for excellence in quality craftsmanship, customer service, and innovative manufacturing capabilities.

The Past

Delmont Builders Supply, Inc. started as a contractor's lumber yard, and in 1986, it underwent a significant expansion. This transformation included enlarging the mill shop, adding a warehouse, and constructing a new 75'x210' building for manufacturing roof trusses. These upgrades set us apart from other supply companies, providing us with a strong manufacturing capability to produce stairs, railings, and roof trusses.

By the 1990s, the building supply industry became increasingly competitive, making it challenging for smaller companies like DBS to stay profitable. In response, we decided to capitalize on our manufacturing strengths and focus on wholesale distribution of building components. In 1997, the company began operating under the name Salem Millwork, Incorporated.

The Present

Now, Salem Millwork, Inc. is the largest manufacturer of stairs in Western Pennsylvania. Our stairs are distributed throughout the tri-state area and beyond by over 150 independent lumber companies, home centers, and two national chains. We have also established partnerships with companies in Ohio, New York, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland, and Eastern Pennsylvania, enabling us to reach an even wider market.

In addition to our stair manufacturing, Salem Millwork offers a complete line of railing parts to complement our prefabricated and pre-fit railing systems. Designed to meet the highest standards of quality and aesthetics, our railing components enable us to create railing systems and balustrades that are intricately beautiful and uniquely customized to your specific needs and preferences.
