Our Story
Our story begins in East Turkistan, where the Uyghur people have called home for centuries. The Uyghurs are a Turkic-speaking, predominantly Sunni Muslim group, who have been the subject of a human rights crisis. Our founder, Hamid Kerim, escaped from East Turkistan and immigrated to the United States, where he created this restaurant to raise awareness about the treatment of the Uyghur people. At Dolan, we strive to help preserve, celebrate, and share an integral part of Uyghur culture: food.
