Our team consists of experienced professionals with backgrounds in solar energy technologies, energy economics, passive solar design, and energy-efficient construction. Our CEO, Dean Durst, has been in the industry for over 30 years, with award-winning projects featured in national publications. Jeff Hiscox, our CFO, brings extensive executive experience from IBM Global Services Division and was the Chief Operating Officer at the Building Performance Institute (BPI). Bob Fiorini, our Director of IT and Programming, has over 25 years of experience in database and software design, business management, and has successfully managed projects in both the public and private sectors.

Our Services

We offer a range of services designed to help homeowners and professionals understand and improve home energy efficiency. Our Heating Energy Assessment Tool (HEAT) is a RESNET approved, easy-to-use web-based application that provides a heating energy assessment for a home in less than 5 minutes. Using algorithms normalized for house size and geographical location, and information from a home's utility bill during the heating season, HEAT gives a home a heating energy grade from A+ to F.

The full HEAT report provides the Normalized Energy Load (NEL) specific to the home, as well as projected annual Heating, Domestic Hot Water, and cooling costs. Two valuable reports are generated for a home evaluated with HEAT: a Heating Energy Assessment that rates the general range of energy efficiency and recommends energy savings measures, and a full detailed Heating Energy Report based on the information entered.

We also provide training and support for professionals using HEAT, ensuring they can effectively utilize the tool to assess home energy performance and provide valuable insights to their clients. For homeowners, we offer guidance on how to use HEAT to get a baseline of their home's energy consumption, costs, and overall rated performance, as well as how to prove the actual savings of energy conservation measures performed with a "before" and "after" rating.
