Our History

The Yard Guy originally began with the Mariner family back in 1996. They owned and ran that business for over 20 years. The Grate family now runs the Ocean Pines business and has expanded on what the Mariner family began. Tyler and Noelle Grate own and run The Yard Guy of Ocean Pines, serving the Ocean Pines community. They moved from Ohio in 2019 and are raising their family here on the Eastern Shore.

The Yard Guy of Ocean Pines is owner-run and operated. Tyler does the mowing route himself and he is who you will see at your property. The Yard Guy of Ocean Pines is a Christian-owned, family business.

Our Services

Our residential mowing service includes mowing, weed whacking, edging (where applicable), and blowing off of debris. We mow on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule, whichever you prefer. We can accommodate one-time or occasional mowing with a few days' notice. We know that summer is a very busy time for locals and a stressful time if you own a second home or an investment property here, so we offer several ways to make the mowing season as stress-free as possible.

We start mowing each season around the 1st of April and continue until the end of November, when the lawn no longer needs mowing. There's no need to call to have us start and stop mowing each season. You can, however, make changes to your service at any time. We mow your lawn on a set schedule; weather permitting, so you know what day of the week to expect us. If it rains on your day, we will reschedule for the next day. We bill once a month, so there is no need to be home when we complete your service. We offer on-line bill pay for your convenience.

Many of our clients like to write one check for the season, so we offer a 5% discount if you pay in full for the season in advance.

Other Lawn Services

We also offer a round-up spray service to keep your driveways, patios, and flower beds looking clean and neat. We spray on a monthly or bi-monthly schedule as your property needs it. Sprays are $35 per application for Ocean Pines residential lots. Give us a call or fill out the information request to get a quote for any other residential property.
