Our Beginnings

Salon Scenes was born from the vision of Shantell Mallard, a second-generation hair stylist with over 20 years of experience. Inspired by her aunt's successful career in Nashville, Tennessee, Shantell nurtured a passion for hair styling from a young age. She honed her skills at Maplewood Vocational in Nashville and Dillard University in New Orleans, where she received professional training and developed a keen eye for innovative techniques. Driven by her artistic talent and unwavering dedication to the craft, Shantell relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to establish her own unique space within the vibrant salon community.

After years of working in other salons, Shantell yearned to create a haven where clients could experience the highest level of personalized care and exceptional hair artistry. She dreamed of an environment that fostered genuine connections and where each visit felt like a relaxing retreat. Inspired by the communal aspects of salons depicted in her favorite plays, movies, and sitcoms, the name "Salon Scenes" emerged as a perfect embodiment of this vision. Shantell envisioned a space where clients felt seen, heard, and valued, a place to connect with friends, share stories, and leave feeling refreshed and empowered.

With a close-knit team of 7 skilled stylists, many of whom have shared a long-standing friendship and professional journey, Salon Scenes boasts a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere. Shantell leads the team as Propiertress and Head Stylist, sharing her vast experience and knowledge to empower each member of the team.
