Christians Sheet Metal, a renowned name in the HVAC industry, was founded in 1925 by Urban Christians. Initially, the company focused on specialty manufacturing and residential heating systems. After World War II, under the leadership of James Christians, the son of the founder, the company shifted its focus towards commercial and industrial fields.

In 1972, Einer Dahl purchased the company, renaming it Christians Corporation. With a large HVAC company already established in Van Meter, Iowa, Mr. Dahl aimed to expand into Northwest Iowa. In 1988, Bruce Nystrom took over the company, renaming it Christians Sheet Metal Works. Mr. Nystrom steered the company towards large commercial projects, and the company's volume has been growing steadily ever since.

In 1996, long-time employees Tony Sholly and Jack Slaymaker purchased the company, renaming it Christians Sheet Metal HVAC, Inc. The company experienced significant success and moved to a larger building next door in 2001. In 2009, Jack Slaymaker retired, and Tony Sholly became the sole owner. Under his leadership, the company added a residential plumbing team to its workforce, serving Northwest Iowa in HVAC and plumbing.

In January 2017, Tony Sholly sold the business to fellow employees Todd Doyle, Jay Edington, and Brent Bern. The new owners are committed to upholding the company's high-quality craftsmanship and ethics built over the past 95 years. Christians Sheet Metal HVAC, Inc. will continue to serve Spencer and the surrounding communities in superior fashion, expanding its custom sheet metal fabrication, and duct cleaning services.
