Our History
In 1978, Dr. Larry Ellis purchased Abilene Veterinary Clinic from its original owner. With the goal of providing the best pet care in the Abilene area, Dr. Ellis has implemented needed equipment and service upgrades, such as digital x-ray, laser surgery, and an in-house lab. In addition to state-of-the-art equipment and the latest technological advances, Abilene Veterinary Clinic boasts highly trained, hard-working, and dedicated staff. Our veterinary team works together with pet owners to ensure every pet experiences the best possible quality of life.
Our Services
Our full-service animal hospital provides veterinary care for dogs, cats, birds, and exotic pets, including preventive care, wellness exams, and services for kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. We offer diagnostics, including ultrasound and digital x-ray capabilities, to help minimize invasive surgery and better diagnose. Our pet dental care services aim to prevent dental disease and tooth loss. We also provide surgical procedures, including pre-anesthetic blood work, anesthesia, surgical monitoring support, IV catheter placement, and pain management. Additionally, we offer care for pocket pets, exotic animals, and provide pet health certificates for travel. Our pharmacy and pet products include specialty foods and medications for preventive care and illnesses.
