Our company was founded by Steven J. Sylvester, a registered civil engineer, in the coastal community of Cambria. Since our inception, we have built a reputation for delivering project designs, topographic mapping, aerial mapping, and processing in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner. Our team has extensive experience in navigating the complex process of land development and ensuring that projects meet all necessary regulations and standards.

• Stormwater Management: NCE is well-versed in the requirements of the Construction General Permit and the preparation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans. We work closely with our clients to ensure that their projects comply with all applicable regulations and standards.

• Machine Control Modeling: NCE offers machine control modeling to both private and public clients throughout California. This service allows us to provide detailed models for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency during the construction process.

Our History

North Coast Engineering, Inc (NCE), a California Corporation, was founded in 1979 by Mr. Steven J. Sylvester, a Civil Engineer registered in the State of California. Over the years, we have grown to include a team of engineers, surveyors, technicians, and support staff. For over 40 years, NCE has provided a broad spectrum of civil engineering, land surveying, land planning, and project management services for local and regional projects.

We maintain a high level of technical competence, supported by state-of-the-art computer systems and software, and complete electronic field-to-office survey equipment, including conventional, robotic, and GPS applications. As a pioneer in the areas of field-to-finish surveying and computer-aided design and drafting, NCE has developed an efficient system for design analysis and production.

Our team is led by President & CEO Greg Jaeger, PE, and Vice President & Principal Engineer, QSD/P John Luttman, PE. Tucker Sanders, PLS, serves as Vice President & Survey Manager. Together, our experienced team is dedicated to providing exceptional service and delivering high-quality results for our clients.
