Our History

Our story began when John Woodward, a local farmer, spearheaded the efforts to establish a mortuary for citizens of color in Spartanburg. The mortuary was first located on Short Wofford Street before moving to its current location at 594 Howard Street in 1946. Over the years, our family-owned and operated business has continued to evolve, embracing the latest technologies and techniques in the funeral industry while remaining committed to our core values of respect, compassion, and integrity.
