Developing a Caring Community for Children's Growth and Development
Little Lambs Daycare is a non-denominational child care center that provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for children of all backgrounds and abilities. We welcome children from birth to 6 years old and are committed to creating an inclusive, respectful, and safe space where they can learn, grow, and thrive.
Our goal is to provide a complete nurturing environment for the growth and development of your child. We believe that play is the beginning of knowledge, and we strive to create opportunities for children to explore, discover, and learn through hands-on experience and participation. Our curriculum is based on play-based learning, which encourages children to select, explore, and practice various skills through a variety of materials and prepared activities.
Play-Based Learning
Play is the foundation of learning and development in early childhood. At Little Lambs Daycare, we provide a rich play-based curriculum that challenges and develops children's creativity, imagination, thinking skills, and social skills. Our environment is safe, friendly, and organized, with plenty of opportunities for children to engage in open-ended, child-led play. We offer a wide range of toys and games that promote physical literacy, social skills, and early literacy skills. Our educators facilitate play and provide support and guidance to help children express their ideas, develop their language and communication skills, and build positive relationships with their peers.
Education and Care
Our center provides many educational activities to keep your children engaged and learning. We believe that children learn best when they are having fun, so we make sure that our activities are age-appropriate, engaging, and relevant to their interests and needs. Our curriculum is based on the Ontario Early Learning Framework (OELF) and the "How Does Learning Happen?" pedagogy, which emphasizes the importance of child-initiated, experiential learning and the role of educators as facilitators and co-learners.
We offer a range of educational activities, including arts and crafts, science experiments, music and movement, storytelling, and dramatic play. These activities promote literacy and numeracy skills, problem-solving skills, and social and emotional development. We also provide opportunities for children to engage in physical literacy activities that promote gross and fine motor skills, balance, coordination, and confidence.
Our Mission and Values
Our mission is to develop a caring community where all children can grow in a healthy safe environment supported by qualified staff members. We believe that each child is unique, competent, capable, curious, and rich in potential to grow and thrive in our environment. We encourage independence, tolerance, responsibility, and respect for others, and we strive to create a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and equity.
We are committed to providing high-quality child care services that are consistent with the Minister's statement on programming and pedagogy. We maintain ongoing communication with parents and families, and we value their input and feedback. We strive to create a positive and supportive community where children and families feel welcomed, respected, and valued.
