Smith Architects

At Smith Architects LLC, we are a full-service architectural design firm that has been in business since 2005. Our mission is to provide collaborative client service for commercial, educational, residential, and government clients from our office in Cleveland, Ohio. We offer a wide range of services including architectural and interior design, master planning, programming, site analysis, cost analysis, construction administration, historic preservation, and adaptive reuse.

Our team is led by Bonnie E. Smith, AIA, who has been a registered architect for over 30 years. With experience in both the public and private sectors, Bonnie has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kent State University and is a registered architect in Ohio and California. She also holds an active NCARB certificate.

The firm was initially started as a sole proprietorship in 2005, focusing on providing collaborative client service for commercial and residential projects. In 2006, Smith Architects LLC was formed to expand our services to include civic and educational projects. Since then, we have continued to grow and expand our client base, including higher education clients and other public clients.

Our approach to design is centered around the belief that we "design buildings for people." This means that we listen to our clients, understand their needs, and create spaces that enhance their experience as users. We believe in connecting with our clients, being inspired by their stories, and creating buildings that serve their goals.
