Where animals come first - and people come second!

At Gulf Coast Large Animal Clinic, we believe in the power of love and care for animals. We are dedicated to providing top-quality services for your livestock, ensuring their health and well-being. Our clinic is not just a place where animals receive medical care; it's a teaching clinic where students learn the art of taking care of these beautiful creatures.

Our story began with Dr. Gregg Knape, who was raised on a farm in Alvin, Texas. The farm was dedicated to producing dairy products and hay, and the success of the farm largely relied on the health and well-being of the livestock. Dr. Knape's love for animals led him to Texas A & M University, where he graduated in 1976 with a degree in veterinary medicine specializing in "Farm Animals." After graduation, he worked in Nacogdoches, Texas, for Doctors Jim and Mike Ward for five years before returning to the dairy farm to start his own practice.

Dr. Knape was joined by his wife and practice manager, Cheryl, whom he met in a high school biology class. Cheryl is not only the practice manager but has done every job at the clinic. They are also joined by Mr. Gary Batson, a veterinary technician extraordinaire, who has been with the Knapes since the beginning.
