Who We Are
Cincinnati Academy of Performing Arts (CAPA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been providing after-school programming in performing arts for students in grades K-12 since 2011. Our mission is to inspire and empower students through high-quality performing arts education, which we deliver through group classes, private lessons, and community productions.
At CAPA, we believe that the performing arts have the power to transform lives and build communities. We are committed to making the performing arts accessible to all students, regardless of their background or ability level. Our programs are designed to foster creativity, build confidence, and promote a love of the arts.
Services Offered
CAPA offers a range of services to meet the needs of our students and their families. Our group classes and private lessons are taught by experienced instructors who are passionate about teaching and mentoring young performers. We offer instruction in music, dance, and theatre, and our classes are tailored to meet the needs of students at all skill levels.
In addition to our group classes and private lessons, CAPA also offers high-quality community productions. These productions are open to all students, and they provide a unique opportunity for students to showcase their talents and gain valuable performance experience. Our productions are held at local theatres and are always well-attended by families and community members.
CAPA also offers a variety of summer camps for students in grades 2-12. Our summer camps are designed to be fun and engaging, and they provide students with the opportunity to explore the performing arts in a supportive and nurturing environment. Our camps include musical theatre camps, film production camps, and musical theatre boot camps.
Locations
CAPA offers programming at several convenient locations throughout Cincinnati. We currently offer group classes and private lessons at Indian Hill, Madeira, Mariemont, Terrace Park, and Sherwood Elementary schools. Private lessons are also offered at Indian Hill, Mariemont, and Armstrong Chapel. These locations are easily accessible by students and families throughout the Cincinnati area.
Outreach Programming
At CAPA, we are committed to making the performing arts accessible to all students, regardless of their background or ability level. We offer outreach programming to several schools and community organizations throughout Cincinnati. Our outreach programming includes workshops, performances, and residencies, and it is designed to introduce students to the performing arts and provide them with opportunities to engage with professional artists.
