At Bolt Barbers, we're a tribe of master barbers dedicated to providing an authentic old-school barbering experience. Our story began in 2009 when our founder and chief barber, Mohawk Matt, left behind a 25-year corporate career to pursue his passion for barbering. With a burning desire to create a space where guys could just be themselves, Mohawk Matt founded Bolt Barbers in Downtown Los Angeles.
Our Mission
Our mission is to stir the art of old-school barbering for the enjoyment and benefit of dudes aged 7-70, while creating community and encouraging dudes to just be themselves. We believe that every guy deserves a third place, outside of home and work/school, where he can hang out, relax, and just be himself.

Our Mobile Barbershop
We're proud to offer Bolt Barbers ON SAFARI, the world's only vintage mobile barbershop. On Safari travels to special events and private parties, bringing the Bolt Barbers experience to your doorstep.
Our Story
Mohawk Matt's journey began at the age of 15, when he started cutting his own hair and those of his friends. As he grew older, his love for barbering only intensified. After a successful career in marketing and general management, Mohawk Matt decided to leave the corporate world behind and pursue his passion for barbering. He enrolled at The Real Barbers College in Anaheim and opened the doors to Bolt Barbers in 2009.
