Shackelford & Associates is a full-service real estate appraisal and consulting firm that has been providing top-quality appraisals since 1993. We take our commitment to quality appraisals seriously, investing in furthering our appraisal education beyond typical pre-licensing and continuing education requirements. Our team is dedicated to continually striving to provide our clients with the highest quality appraisal reports.

With offices in Raleigh and Greenville, we offer our clients a large area of coverage throughout the Triangle and Eastern North Carolina. Our team consists of a large, diversified, and highly-educated staff, allowing us to offer appraisals across a wide variety of commercial, residential, and agricultural property types.

Shackelford & Associates has been providing quality real estate appraisal and consulting services since 1993. We have a large, diversified, and well-educated staff with a combined experience of over 150 years. Our commitment to excellence is evident by three of our appraisers being designated members of the Appraisal Institute with Matt Hawk holding the MAI designation, and Jay Shackelford and Russell Adams both the MAI and SRA.

Our Team

Our team is comprised of experienced and dedicated professionals who are committed to providing the highest quality appraisal services. Meet some of our key team members:

• Jay Shackelford, MAI, SRA
• Partner / Certified General Appraiser
• Jay Shackelford began appraising for the firm in 2001 before becoming owner in 2005. Jay is a certified general appraiser and holds the prestigious MAI and SRA designations with the Appraisal Institute. He is an approved appraiser for the VA and is both FHA and Yellow Book certified. In addition, he is a Department of Revenue Certified Appraiser and a licensed real estate broker. Jay is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He currently resides in Winterville with his wife Laura, and twin daughters, Jeri and Jonna.

• Russell Adams, MAI, SRA
• Partner / Certified General Appraiser
• Russell Adams is a partner at Shackelford & Associates and has been appraising for the firm since 2004. He is a certified general appraiser and holds the prestigious MAI and SRA designations with the Appraisal Institute. He is an approved appraiser for the VA and is both FHA and Yellow Book certified. Russell is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He currently resides in Raleigh with his wife Amy, and two children, Andrew and Ava.
