Our History

Richardson Tax & Accounting has a rich history rooted in the heartland of Wisconsin. Founded in 1976 by Bob Richardson in Spring Valley, the firm arose from a recognition of the unique needs faced by farmers in the area. Combining his legal expertise from his Richardson Law Office with a firsthand understanding of agricultural finances, Bob established Richardson Tax & Accounting to provide comprehensive accounting and tax services tailored specifically for farms.

Over the decades, the firm has evolved and expanded to meet the ever-changing demands of its clientele. Driven by a commitment to serving the agricultural community, Richardson Tax & Accounting has become a trusted resource for farmers of all sizes, from small individual farm operations to large farm corporations and partnerships.

As the firm grew, so did its service offerings. Recognizing that farmers require a holistic approach to their financial needs, Richardson Tax & Accounting broadened its expertise to encompass a range of services, including meticulous record keeping, year-end payroll preparation, and a deep understanding of both federal and state tax laws, including valuable Wisconsin tax credits such as the Farmland Preservation credit and the Agricultural credit.

Commitment to Service and Community

In 2003, Bob Richardson integrated his law practice with Bakke Norman Law Offices, creating a synergy that benefited both firms' clients. Richardson Tax & Accounting maintains a shared space with Bakke Norman in its Menomonie, Wisconsin office, continuing to serve a diverse clientele that includes Bakke Norman's existing base and new clients across Northwest Wisconsin.

Bob Richardson, who retired in 2017, leaves behind a legacy of dedication to his clients and the communities he served. Under the leadership of Tamara M. Skoglund, Attorney and CPA, who serves as the managing partner, Richardson Tax & Accounting continues its mission of providing personalized and expert financial guidance.

Tamara's expertise ensures that the firm remains at the forefront of tax and accounting best practices, while continuing to uphold the core values of personalized service and unwavering commitment to its clients.
