Reclaim Your Energy and Restore Your Health
At Chelsea House Montessori, we are committed to bringing our vision into reality by providing high-quality education to children from diverse backgrounds. Our services are designed to impact various communities, including the children, parents, staff, and the community at large. Our organization is built on the following commitments:
Our Mission
Our mission is to increase general awareness of the importance and value of early childhood years. We strive to provide an environment that allows children to develop foundational attitudes, habits, and skills essential for a lifetime of creative thinking and learning. We aim to develop and maintain a reputation in the community as a high-quality program for children and their parents. Additionally, we aim to empower our staff to fulfill their creative exploration and professional development, while acknowledging and respecting the uniqueness of children, families, and coworkers in our schools.
Our History
Chelsea House Montessori was established in 1985 in a residential neighborhood in North Seattle. With over three decades of experience, we have established ourselves as a well-respected school in both the Montessori and early childhood communities. Our commitment to excellence in education and professional services to our school families is our guiding principle in our business practice.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is rooted in the Montessori method, founded by Dr. Maria Montessori, who revolutionized educational thought by stressing respect for the child, freedom of expression, self-education, and training through use of movement and the senses. The core of the Montessori philosophy is that each child carries within themselves the person they are meant to become, and has an innate power to accomplish that task. To develop the physical, intellectual, and spiritual powers required for this task, we provide freedom to interact with a prepared environment that fosters child-led learning.
Our Services
Our services are designed to cater to the unique needs of each child, promoting independence, self-directed learning, and social development. Our experienced teachers and caregivers provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages children to explore, discover, and learn at their own pace.
