Our Mission

At Assumption Nursery School & Toddler Center, we are dedicated to providing a high-quality early childhood education that fosters a love of learning and a strong foundation for success in school and in life. Our Goals

Our school-wide curriculum is aligned with Michigan's Standards of Quality for Early Childhood (infant, toddler, preschool and young-fives). All of these standards are implemented through child-initiated activities, hands-on learning, student problem solving, and creativity. The State Board of Education (SBE) approved revisions to the following standards documents on March 12, 2013. The Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Infant and Toddler Programs (ECSQ-IT), Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Prekindergarten (ECSQ-PK), Common Core State Standards for K-2 and the Michigan Out-of-School Time (MOST) Standards of Quality are the most up-to-date versions available.

Program Offerings by Age

We offer programs for children of different age groups, including infants (for children 12 months not walking defensively), toddlers (for children 12 months - 2 and walking defensively), transition room (for children 2 through young 3's who may not developmentally be ready for the structure of a pre-school format), preschool (for children ages 3 and 4 who are fully potty-trained), and young fives (for children who are old enough for kindergarten but would benefit from another growth year).

Enrichment Classes

In addition to our core programs, we also offer enrichment classes for our preschool and young five students. These classes are offered in the afternoon throughout the school year and are designed to enhance students' learning and development. We believe that these classes provide a well-rounded educational experience for our students, and we are constantly updating and expanding our offerings to meet the changing needs of our students and the community.

Our Facility

Our facilities are ideally scaled to size for children, with fourteen generously sized classrooms that boast various learning centers to help your children develop language arts, math, science, and life skills. We have a full-size gymnasium where children receive daily physical education classes, an enclosed courtyard, spacious grounds with separate age-appropriate play areas for both toddlers and pre-schoolers, and a hands-on nature trail that provides ample opportunities for exploration and learning. Our main entrance, main hallway, transition room & toddler hallway, office and conference room, playgrounds, bike path, and courtyard are all designed with the safety and enjoyment of our students in mind.
