Meet Our Team
At Urban Vets Animal Hospital, we pride ourselves on our talented and compassionate team. Dr. Howard A. Cohen, our owner and director, is a veterinarian with over 25 years of experience. Dr. Cohen is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the New York City Veterinary Medical Association, the New York State Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Our team also includes Elvin Alvarado, a veterinary technician with over 23 years of experience in animal-related positions. Elvin joined our team in October 2012 and is responsible for a little of everything. Yolanda Lebron, our receptionist, has worked with us since March 2015 and is responsible for greeting clients, making appointments, and cashing out. Dr. Karen Cherrone, one of our veterinarians, is originally from upstate NY and received her bachelor of science degree in animal science.
