The North Texas Asian Photographers Association (NTAPA) is a non-profit organization based in Dallas, Texas. Established with the aim of promoting the art and science of photography, NTAPA provides a platform for photographers of all levels to learn, grow, and share their passion for photography. We operate exclusively for purposes governed by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
Our Mission
At NTAPA, our mission is to provide educational experiences, informational sessions, inspiration, and opportunities for self-growth and camaraderie for all persons interested in photography. We believe that photography is a powerful tool for self-expression, communication, and documentation, and we strive to promote its use in a responsible and ethical manner.
Our Services
NTAPA offers a wide range of services to its members, including:
- Photo Critique: Our photo critique sessions provide members with the opportunity to receive feedback on their work from experienced photographers. These sessions are designed to help members improve their skills and techniques, and to provide a forum for discussion and learning.
- Events: NTAPA hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including lectures, workshops, and field trips. Our lectures feature experienced photographers who share their knowledge and expertise on a variety of topics, ranging from technical skills to artistic vision. Our workshops provide hands-on learning opportunities, while our field trips allow members to practice their skills in a variety of settings.
- Contests: NTAPA hosts monthly contests with a variety of themes, providing members with the opportunity to showcase their work and compete with other photographers. We also host an annual black and white contest, which is open to all members.
- Gallery: NTAPA maintains an online gallery where members can share their work with the world. We also host exhibitions and shows, providing members with the opportunity to display their work in a public forum.
- Trainings: NTAPA offers training programs for beginners, intermediate, and advanced photographers. Our trainings cover a wide range of topics, from camera settings and techniques to composition and storytelling.
- Field Trips: NTAPA organizes field trips to various locations, providing members with the opportunity to practice their skills and learn from experienced photographers. Our field trips cover a variety of themes, including landscape, wildlife, architecture, and portraiture.
