Our History

Our story began as a dream, a passion that was ignited from a young age. Our founding principal, Mark Redden, knew from elementary school that he wanted to become an architect. This desire remained unwavering throughout his education and internships, where he learned the importance of understanding client needs and providing unique design solutions.

In 2010, Mark set out to establish Archology, a firm that would combine the best of design sensibilities with the best of communication with clients, ensuring that neither side would ever be surprised. Our commitment to "No Surprise Design" has enabled us to grow and provide exceptional services to our clients, designing a better world one building at a time.

Our Philosophy

At Archology, we are dedicated to providing long-term value to our clients. The definition of value may vary greatly depending on the project. For a homeowner building their dream home, value may be defined as the best, longest-lasting, and lowest-maintenance materials. For a developer of a speculative commercial development, value may be defined as maximum square footage for the least cost. We strive to provide value as defined by the client to any client, through constant questioning and researching options to ensure the best possible outcome.

Our Staff

Our team is composed of dedicated professionals who share our passion for creating exceptional architectural designs. Our founding principal, Mark Redden, has over a decade of experience in the field, with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and a Master's degree from the University of Michigan. Mark is licensed to practice architecture in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, and is certified by NCARB.

Our partner, Lang Redden, brings a unique background in Mechanical Engineering, earning an Associate's degree from Delaware Technical and Community College. She joined Archology in 2011 and is responsible for managing projects and behind-the-scenes office work.

Our project manager, Rachel Loper, graduated from Milford High School and earned an Associate's degree in Interior Design from Delaware Technical and Community College. She joined Archology in 2017 and is responsible for drafting and project management.
