August is a Contemporary Creole restaurant located in a historic 19th-century French-Creole building in New Orleans' Central Business District. Our interior is rich with original architectural details, gleaming hardwood floors, soaring columns, mahogany paneling, and antique mirrors. The main dining area is comprised of three breathtaking rooms: the elegant main dining room with its signature crystal chandeliers, the two-story wine room, and the intimate Gravier room. Each room offers a unique dining experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
Our menu is designed to showcase the best of Louisiana ingredients with a focus on classical training. We offer a variety of menus, including our South of France Tasting Menu and Wine Tasting Wednesday, ensuring there's something for every palate. Our team, led by Executive Chef Corey Thomas, is dedicated to providing exceptional cuisine and service.
Chef Thomas, a Louisiana native, brings a wealth of experience and passion for Creole cuisine. His journey in the kitchen began later in life but was fueled by his love for Louisiana culture and cuisine. He has worked at several renowned establishments, including Commander's Palace and Shaya Restaurant, where he was part of the team that won the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant.
Emmaline Duhon, our General Manager, is a dedicated hospitality professional with a deep appreciation for southern hospitality and diverse cultural experiences. She has worked at several high-end establishments, including the Park Hyatt in Abu Dhabi and Madera Restaurant in San Francisco.
