James Melvin, DMD

Melvin Family Dentistry is a family-owned and operated dental practice that has been serving the Savannah community since 2004. Dr. Melvin and his wife, Tricia, are dedicated to providing personalized care to patients of all ages, from young children to seniors. Their mission is to make dental care a positive experience for everyone, ensuring that every patient feels comfortable and valued.

Dr. Melvin's journey in dentistry began when he was still in nursing school at the Medical College of Georgia. He was inspired by a lecture about the importance of oral health in overall health and decided then that he wanted to become a dentist. After completing his dental education, Dr. Melvin returned to Savannah to start his practice. Away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, including his three boys, Tyler, Tanner, and Tripp, who keep them busy with various activities like baseball, football, and karate.

New Patients

If you are new to the practice, please download the patient forms from their website and bring them to your appointment. This includes a Patient Medical History, Dental History, Financial Policy, and a Practice Acknowledgment form. It's recommended to arrive 15 minutes early to complete the registration process. They will also need to know if you have had any recent dental x-rays, and be prepared to discuss any current dental problems or health issues you may have.
