Our Story

Guardian Plumbing & Heating, Inc., located in Livonia, Michigan, is one of the Detroit area's leading full-service plumbing contractors for healthcare, commercial, and institutional service. As a second-generation business with over 40 years of experience, we offer excellent craftsmanship and outstanding service. Our licensed plumbing personnel install and maintain all types of plumbing systems, from healthcare facilities, high-rise office buildings, apartment complexes, schools, and industrial plants to the simplest renovation or repair of any type of plumbing, piping, or heating system.

Guardian Plumbing & Heating was established in 1968 as a service company by Andy D'Ascenzo. His goal was to deliver a quality product with good service at a fair price. Our first customer was the Metropolitan Hospitals, which was later purchased by Henry Ford Health Systems and remains a customer to this day. As we grew, healthcare and high-rise buildings became our primary customers. This market expects quality and good service, and we rose to the occasion, growing our business every year.

Andy's sons, Gary, Tony, and Brian followed in his footsteps, becoming master plumbers and helping to take the company into the future. With the loss of its founder in 1984, the reins of the company were passed to Tony D'Ascenzo. Through his leadership, the company opened a construction division, which has worked in every major hospital system in southeastern Michigan. In 1990, Andy's fourth son, Larry D'Ascenzo, joined the company as a marketing manager for the service division. Since then, Guardian's client-base consists of companies as large as General Motors to small single-building owners.
