Through The Week Preschool

TTWS is a half-day school located in Myers Park Baptist Church, providing quality preschool education to children from infancy to Transitional Kindergarten. Our mission is to provide a nurturing and educational environment that fosters the cognitive, emotional, social, physical, and intellectual growth of each child. We achieve this by implementing our philosophy, "We Play to Learn, " which is built on the understanding that optimum learning occurs as children play.

Our Programs

We offer a range of programs designed to cater to the unique needs of each age group. Our programs include:

• Toddlers & Twos: Our toddler program is designed for children from 12 to 36 months. We recognize that this age group is learning and exploring the world around them. Our program is designed to build trust and encourage exploration.
• Preschool: Our preschool program is designed for children aged 3 to 4 years. We focus on developing social and emotional skills, and our program is designed to be engaging and fun.
• Transitional Kindergarten (TK): Our transitional kindergarten program is designed for children who are 5 years old and will be entering kindergarten the following year. Our program is designed to bridge the gap between preschool and kindergarten.

Curriculum and Activities

Our curriculum is designed to provide a well-rounded education that incorporates a variety of activities, including:

• Music: We partner with BOLD Music to provide a musical experience in the classroom, using instruments, songs, and fingerplays.
• Science: Our science instructor visits our 3's to TK classrooms to provide fascinating and interactive science lessons once a month.
• My Gym: We partner with My Gym to provide twice-monthly sessions for all 2's to TK students, promoting gross motor skills through activities such as tumbling, gymnastics, and balance.
• Theater: We partner with the Taradiddle Players to expose our children to the world of theater arts, encouraging creativity and dramatic play.
• Cultural Awareness: We celebrate cultural events such as the Chinese New Year and the Indian Festival of Lights, promoting mindfulness and appreciation for diversity in our world.

History and Partnerships

TTWS has a rich history dating back to 1955. We are proud to be a part of Myers Park Baptist Church, which was founded in 1943. Our church and school have a strong commitment to serving our community, and our partnership with the Cornwell Center provides a range of activities and services for the entire family.
