Our company was founded by Steve Bontecou in 1978, and since then, we have established ourselves as one of the leading custom home builders in the region. Our History

Bontecou Construction has a rich history of building high-quality, custom homes in the Jackson Hole region. Our founder, Steve Bontecou, began building and renovating homes and commercial spaces in 1973, and founded Bontecou Construction in 1978. Over the years, we have worked with some of the area's leading architects and have developed a reputation for building the finest crafted custom homes in the region. One of our notable projects is the construction of a private residence designed by internationally acclaimed architect Cesar Pelli, which incorporated a main gallery framed by 30" diameter Engleman Spruce posts. For our work on this project, we were the recipient of the 1993 American Wood Council's top award.

Our Team & Experience

Our team is led by Steve Bontecou, our founder and president, who has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry. Our project managers, Dave Hammond and Lindsey Bontecou, have 30 and 10 years of experience, respectively, and are highly skilled in managing complex projects from start to finish. Our team's expertise covers all aspects of custom construction, and we have worked with some of the area's leading architects on numerous projects. Our work has been recognized both within and far beyond the Jackson area, and we have been featured in several publications, including "The New York Times Sunday Magazine, " "The New American House, " and "Jackson Hole Magazine."
