Our Story

Criterium-Harbor Engineers was founded in Baltimore in 2004 by Craig D. Smith, P.E., who serves as the local owner and oversees all work conducted from this office. With over 25 years of experience in the design, construction, and management of buildings and building systems, Mr. Smith has built a reputation for excellence. He holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and is a registered Professional Engineer in Maryland and Virginia, as well as a LEED AP.

Since its inception, Criterium-Harbor Engineers has evaluated over 2,000 buildings across Southern Delaware and Maryland's eastern shore. Our staff of licensed, Professional Engineers offers a range of skills, including structural, civil, and mechanical engineering, project management, and more. We have extensive experience in diagnostics, due diligence, commissioning, envelope performance, and HVAC systems, making us the go-to firm for complex projects.
