At Altavista Animal Hospital, we understand the bond between pets and their owners. For over 50 years, we have been dedicated to providing top-quality care, compassion, and education to our clients and their beloved pets. Our goal is to help you keep your pet healthy, happy, and active throughout their entire life, from puppyhood to senior years.

Our hospital was established in the early 1960s, and since 1988, Dr. Bullins has been at the helm, guiding our team with passion and commitment. Over the years, we have expanded our services and medical equipment to meet the growing needs of our clients. In 1998, we undertook a major renovation to increase our facility size from 1800 to 3200 square feet. This allowed us to accommodate more pets and offer a wider range of services.

Our team of dedicated veterinarians includes Dr. Sandra Bullins, Dr. Stephanie Chmiel, and Dr. Lilla Howle. Each of our doctors brings their unique skills, experience, and love for animals to our practice. Together, we strive to provide personalized care that meets the specific needs of each pet and their owner.

At Altavista Animal Hospital, we believe in preventive health care. We offer routine check-ups, vaccinations, dental care, and nutritional counseling tailored to your pet's age and health status. Our behavioral counseling services can help you address common issues like housebreaking, barking, or destructive behavior. We also offer surgical services, diagnostic testing, and emergency care when your pet needs it most.

Our hospital is conveniently located on Route 714, just a mile off Highway 29. We operate Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with extended hours on Tuesday and Thursday until 7:00 PM. Saturday appointments are available from 8:00 AM to noon. Our doctors' hours are by appointment, but we understand that emergencies can arise at any time. We accept payments via cash, local checks, all major credit cards, debit cards, and Care Credit. You may apply for Care Credit at our hospital or online. To continue providing our services, we request that payments be made at the time of service. However, we are happy to provide estimates of costs for all procedures upon request.
