Our Story

La Posada Hotel & Gardens is the culmination of a passion project by its current owner, Allan Affeldt, who fell in love with the hotel's rich history and architecture. The story begins with Fred Harvey, a visionary who introduced luxury and impeccable service to railroad travel. Harvey's legacy lives on through our hotel, which has hosted some of the most famous guests in history, including James Cagney, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jimmy Stewart, Roy Rogers, Carole Lombard, Amelia Earhart, and John Wayne.
