Our industrial/commercial/residential division has completed numerous large projects since its founding in 1985. These services have innovatively included warning siren installations, street light installations and maintenance, athletic field specialized illumination projects, and federal highway construction projects. Our Projects

At Southern Electric Corporation, we take pride in our work and are committed to delivering high-quality results that exceed our clients' expectations. Here are some of our recent projects:

• Utility Regulator Bank Build Flowood MS: During the peak of summer temperatures, a large project was undertaken to construct a new utility regulator bank in Flowood, Mississippi. This project required careful planning, coordination, and execution to ensure that it was completed on time and within budget.

• Extreme Terrain Stone Mountain Georgia: The Stone Mountain project consisted of changing out existing power poles and lines with new ones. This project was challenging due to the extreme terrain and required specialized equipment and expertise to complete.

• High Voltage Southern Alabama: The task at this particular structure was to replace old high voltage transmission lines with new ones. This project required careful planning and execution to ensure that the new lines were installed safely and efficiently.

• Specialized, Transmission Mehoopany Wind Farm OHL Transmission Line: The project consisted of building approximately 20 miles of high voltage transmission line to connect the Mehoopany Wind Farm to the power grid. This project required specialized equipment and expertise to complete.

Our History

Southern Electric Corporation of Mississippi (SEC) was founded in 1985 as a 3-man start-up working out of a backyard tool shed. For the first few years after inception, SEC primarily served commercial and residential electrical construction needs in Mississippi. In the early 1990s, SEC began to move into the overhead and underground high voltage utility market. Since that time, SEC has progressively expanded its operations and work footprint to provide these services along with extensive storm damage power restoration services to a wide range of power providers over a large area of the US.

SEC's commitment to safety has been the cornerstone for employee development and customer satisfaction that continues to pave the way for additional growth. Our professional staff of highly trained and highly skilled team members are constantly developing innovative processes utilizing human performance tools and techniques that allow us to regularly exceed our customer's expectations.
