Mark Holmquist: Founder and Principal Architect

Mark Holmquist is a highly accomplished architect who has gained extensive experience working in the offices of New York City's most prominent architects and interior designers. His holistic and interdisciplinary approach to design can be traced back to his academic years at the University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in Design of the Environment. This program focused on the design of the built environment, encompassing the decisions people make to shape their spaces and reflect their humanity.

After graduating, Mark deepened his understanding of architecture and design through travels to Paris. He subsequently pursued a Master's in Architecture at Penn, earning the prestigious Dale's fellowship, which granted him the opportunity to study Architecture in Rome. Mark's professional journey includes experience in both the public and private sectors. He was part of a team led by the renowned architect Romaldo Guirgola that designed the Foreign Services Training Institute. He later collaborated with celebrated AD-100 designer Jamie Drake on design projects supported by the Bloomberg Mayoral administration.

Mark's residential architectural portfolio features projects in some of New York City's most coveted Co-op buildings, including 720 Park Avenue, 770 Park Avenue, and The Dakota. Mark is a Licensed Architect and a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional.
