I'm Doreen Giles, a Licensed Acupuncturist and the driving force behind the Healing Arts Center. I'm dedicated to providing a holistic approach that can resolve pain and promote recovery by freeing the body's own healing mechanisms. About Doreen

I'm a National Board Certified acupuncturist (NCCAOM) and am licensed to practice acupuncture in Wisconsin. I graduated in 1996 from the three-year program at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Racine, WI. My training included a month-long internship in China as well as extensive hands-on experience with several practitioners in Wisconsin. I also completed a one-year course in Chinese herbal medicine at the Wisconsin Institute of Natural Wellness in Racine in 1996. Over the years, I've participated in numerous continuing education programs to stay current with the latest advancements in the field.

In addition to acupuncture and herbal medicine, I've studied several energetic techniques, including acupressure, Quantum Touch, and Reconnective Healing. I may use one or more of these techniques during a treatment session to provide additional focus in a specific area, such as a sore foot, injured knee, or tight shoulders. By request, we can have an entire session using one of these techniques without acupuncture.

I'm also extensively trained in the Gokhale Method for optimal posture. This method teaches us how to rediscover our natural, pain-free posture, which can help alleviate many common aches and pains. I participate in ongoing monthly teleseminars and have regular access to communication with the method's founder, Esther Gokhale, and the community of teachers.

Our Services

At the Healing Arts Center, we offer a range of services to help promote healing and well-being:

Acupuncture: Based on ancient insights and supported by modern research, acupuncture can resolve pain and improve health by restoring healthy flow of energy. During your acupuncture treatment, I'll carefully select points related to your specific condition and use needles to stimulate those points. The needles are very thin, and most people find the treatments to be quite comfortable. In addition to needles, I may also use techniques such as guasha (scraping), cupping, or Chinese herbal medicine as needed.
NeuroModulation Technique (NMT): Similar to debugging a computer, NMT helps remove errors and reset the body's regulating systems to restore good health. During an NMT session, I'll use a light touch to test your body's response to various stimuli. Based on those responses, I'll be able to identify any errors or imbalances in your system and help correct them.
Gokhale Method Posture: Many of our chronic and recurring pain issues can be caused by poor posture. Through the Gokhale Method, you can rediscover your natural, pain-free posture. During a Gokhale Method session, I'll guide you through a series of gentle stretches and movements designed to help you find and maintain your optimal posture.
Telehealth: If you're not able to come into the clinic for an in-person session, we also offer telehealth appointments. During a telehealth session, we can discuss your symptoms and concerns, and I can guide you through techniques such as acupressure, visualization, or other energy techniques to help promote healing.
