Porter Manufacturing

Porter Manufacturing, LLC was organized in 1976 and began manufacturing and selling agricultural and industrial spray equipment to farm equipment dealers across the United States. Over the years, the company has diversified its product line to include a wide range of ground support equipment and supplies for the United States Department of Defense. In 1979, Porter Manufacturing developed a unique product in herbicide application; the Wedge-Wik rope applicator. This innovative product was marketed through distributors in several countries. However, due to the economic downturn in the agricultural industry in the early 1980s, the company's focus shifted towards Government contracts, primarily for ground support equipment and supplies. Since then, Porter Manufacturing has established a formal Quality Control program to meet the requirements in MIL-I-45208 and is currently developing an ISO 9000 quality system to further enhance product quality.

Today, the company provides full manufacturing capabilities, including fabrication, machining, welding, painting, and assembly. Additionally, Porter Manufacturing has an active engineering staff that designs and oversees production of a wide variety of products for both agricultural and industrial uses. The quality assurance department works closely with customer representatives in maintaining quality and excellence for all products. Despite being a small business with less than 20 employees, Porter Manufacturing consistently delivers high-quality products and services to its clients.

Projects of Note

Porter Manufacturing has worked on several notable projects over the years, including the design and manufacture of trailer contained steam cleaners, lubricating equipment, rocket launchers, field laundry and kitchen units, and potable water tank trucks.
