At CrossFit Radford, we believe in forging a broad, general, and inclusive fitness program that prepares individuals for any physical contingency. Our specialty is not specializing in one particular sport or physical task but rather in developing a fitness regimen that can be applied universally. We achieve this through constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity in a communal environment. This approach leads to greater health and fitness for our members.

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a fitness regimen developed over several decades by Coach Greg Glassman. It's defined as "constantly varied, functional movements executed at high intensity." This means our training is general, preparing individuals for the unknown, not just the known. We use a variety of modalities, including gymnastic and bodyweight movements, cardio, and external load weights, to achieve total fitness. Each workout of the day (WOD) is designed to work the full body, from core to extremity, and will not repeat unless it's a benchmark WOD. We focus on functional movements that are natural and essential for maintaining quality of life, performed at high intensity to maximize the benefit.

New to CrossFit? Get Your Free Goal Assessment

We offer a unique program for those new to CrossFit and weightlifting. This includes a complimentary 20-minute fitness goals assessment, where we get to know you, your unique goals, and determine if CrossFit Radford is the best path to success. During this session, we will discuss your motivations, current fitness challenges, and provide an overview of our training methodology and class options. We'll also give you a tour of our premier functional fitness training facility. This is an excellent opportunity to experience training like no other and see if CrossFit Radford is right for you.
