Our Journey Begins

In 1976, two friends, Scott Millbury and David "Joe" Haley, returned to their hometown of Rangeley, Maine, after serving in the United States Army. Their entrepreneurial spirit led them to establish M&H Logging and Construction, initially focusing on harvesting and trucking wood products.

Expanding Expertise

Driven by a desire to diversify, M&H grew beyond its initial focus. In the 80s, the company acquired equipment and manpower, allowing them to take on road construction, excavation, and utility work. This expansion led to the formation of a second partnership, J&S Logging, to handle woods operations.

Sustainable Growth

M&H demonstrates a deep commitment to sustainability. In the 90s, they embraced innovative forest management practices with the purchase of a cut-to-length harvesting system. This technology allows for selective thinning and harvesting, ensuring the health and balance of the forest.

Today, M&H Construction offers a comprehensive range of services, including:

• Commercial & Municipal Road Construction & Reconstruction: Building and improving roads and highways, including Route 2 in Dixfield, Route 27 in Coburn Gore, and the Route 3 connector in Augusta.

• Water & Sewer Utilities: Installation, repair, and maintenance of water and sewer infrastructure for both residential and commercial properties.

• Drainage & Environmental Services: Drainage system installation, maintenance, and erosion control solutions.

• Airport Improvements: Expertise in runway construction and maintenance.

• Site Work & Development: Excavation, foundation construction, and utility installation for homes, businesses, and commercial projects.

• Materials & Supply: Supply of aggregates, gravel, sand, and shale for various construction projects.
