Welcome to The Ruby Pardue Blackburn Adult Day Health Care Center, a safe and nurturing environment for adults who cannot remain at home alone during the day. Our center, located in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, serves residents of Wilkes, Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Caldwell, Iredell, Surry, Watauga, and Yadkin counties. We are proud to offer adult day care services that enrich the lives of our clients through a dedicated, compassionate, understanding, and professional staff.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide residents of Wilkes and surrounding counties with adult day care services in a safe, peaceful, and enriching environment. We strive to achieve this through our dedicated, compassionate, understanding, and professional staff. Our goal is to help families and caregivers by providing an alternate solution to premature nursing home/assisted living placement and/or caregiver burnout.

General Information

The Ruby Pardue Blackburn Adult Day Health Care Center provides a home-like environment for adults who cannot remain safely at home during the day. Our center is carefully designed to promote a peaceful feeling that makes participants feel secure. We offer skilled nursing care and activities for adults, and our staff are professionally trained to provide assistance with personal care, such as ambulation, toileting, bathing, personal hygiene, and eating. We also have a full-time Registered Nurse available for health and medication monitoring.

While many of our center participants are elderly, we welcome young and middle-aged adults with developmental disabilities as well as those who may have suffered a stroke, traumatic brain injury, or early onset dementia. We are Medicaid CAP DA (Disabled Adults), CAP I/DD (Intellectual Developmental Disability), and VA (U.S. Dept of Veterans Affairs) Approved.

Participant Services

Our participant services are designed to meet the unique needs of each individual who comes to our center. We offer a variety of activities that are tailored to the interests and abilities of our participants. Our services include:
