Delta Health Center

Delta Health Center, Inc. is a non-profit organization that has been providing comprehensive primary health care services to the community since 1965. As the first Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) in the United States, we have been committed to caring for vulnerable populations from newborns to the elderly. Our mission is to provide high-quality, comprehensive healthcare in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner, regardless of ability to pay.

Our History

Delta Health Center was founded by Dr. H. Jack Geiger and Dr. Count Gibson, physicians from Tufts University Medical School, who secured funding from the Office of Economic Opportunity to establish the center in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. Since its inception, DHC has grown to operate nine locations, providing a wide range of health care services to meet the needs of our community. Our dedicated team of medical personnel is committed to serving our patients with compassion and excellence.
