At Discovery Time Preschool, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and engaging environment for young children. Our state-licensed center has been operating within the Mitchellville Christian Church for over 30 years, fostering social and academic growth in a loving atmosphere where Christian values are taught.

Our team of experienced teachers, who meet state DHS standards for childcare, work tirelessly to ensure that each child receives the best possible learning experience. We believe in actively partnering with parents to help their children develop essential skills and values that will serve them well throughout their lives.

Our multi-age classroom setting offers a variety of options for parents, including flexible scheduling and an extended day program. Each day is filled with a mix of large and small group activities, hands-on learning experiences, play opportunities, and a developmentally appropriate curriculum designed to encourage curiosity and a love for learning.

Our Program

We offer a multi-age preschool class for students ages 3-5 years. This class provides a comprehensive and engaging experience that includes large and small group activities, hands-on learning experiences, play opportunities, snack time, story time, and a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Parents can choose from several scheduling options, including three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) or five days a week (Monday through Friday).

In addition to our standard preschool program, we also offer an extended day option called Lunch and Learn. This program is available on Wednesdays from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and provides additional learning opportunities in areas such as math, science, literacy, and art. Another extended day option, called Extended Lunch, is available for students who are enrolled in the 4-year Pre-K PM class at Mitchellville Elementary. This program allows students to bring a lunch from home and then be walked over to the school for their afternoon class.

Registration

We understand that choosing the right preschool for your child is an important decision, and we encourage you to explore our programs and services in more detail. To pre-register your student, please complete the online form or fill out the printable form. After submitting your registration form, you will receive an email confirmation. A $100.00 non-refundable registration/supply fee is due at the time of enrollment to reserve a spot. Scholarships and limited financial assistance are available; please contact us for more details.
