Harper Animal Hospital, established in 1975, has been delivering top-notch veterinary medical care to the communities of Palatine, Inverness, Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, and Barrington for many years. Our hospital is located near the corner of Algonquin Road and Roselle Road in Palatine, making us a convenient choice for pet owners in the area.

Dr. Abel, our lead veterinarian, is a second-generation veterinarian whose father owned a practice in rural Iowa. Growing up around his father's practice, Dr. Abel developed a deep appreciation for the small-town community experience and strives to bring that same level of care and personal attention to each of our clients and patients.

At Harper Animal Hospital, we are proud to support our local communities. We have worked with many shelters over the years, providing veterinary care for pets in need of a good home. We also work with a local community college, providing an internship site for aspiring veterinary technicians.

Our Careteam

Our careteam at Harper Animal Hospital is made up of dedicated and experienced individuals who share a passion for animals and a commitment to providing the best possible care for our patients.

*Dominique, our Practice Manager, has been with us since 2009 and loves interacting with both our patients and clients. She has always had a deep love for animals and shares her home with her adorable mutt dog, Kismet, a spirited Amazon parrot named Spatz, and a Paint mare named Blue.*

*Susan, one of our Certified Veterinary Technicians, has been with us since 1982. She has loved animals for as long as she can remember and has dedicated her career to providing the best possible care for them. Susan enjoys the medical aspect of her job and looks forward to attending continuing education seminars to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.*
