Bridge and Structure Inspections

We specialize in conducting structural safety inspections for in-service bridges, including structures of any type or complexity. Our team of certified inspectors hold current National Highway Institute certifications and have taken the necessary courses to ensure that they are well-versed in the latest inspection techniques. We also provide damage inspections for overload or impact damage, initial inspections for approval of new structures, and interim inspections for structures that require monitoring intervals in excess of those prescribed by the FHWA.

In addition to bridge inspection services, we also inspect buildings, waterfront structures, and ancillary highway structures, such as overhead signs and high-mast light structures. Our team is dedicated to ensuring the safety and integrity of all structures we inspect.

Design Services

Mid-Atlantic Engineering has a full staff of structural engineers dedicated to fulfilling our clients' project needs, whether those be bridge design, bridge repair/rehabilitation, or waterfront structure design. We also perform structural load ratings for bridges of all structure types for numerous municipalities and state agencies. Our design services are tailored to meet the specific requirements of each project, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible solution for their needs.

Projects

Our firm has been involved in numerous projects throughout the years, showcasing our expertise and capabilities in the field of structural engineering. Some of our recent projects include the Dairy Road Pedestrian Bridge Replacement in Charlottesville, Virginia, and the VDOT Bridge Inspection Term Contracts, which involved performing National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) element level safety inspections of highway structures and bridges, and support structures for traffic control devices through various districts in Virginia.
