Vallejo Parent Nursery School

Vallejo Parent Nursery School and American Canyon Co-op Preschool are non-profit cooperative preschools licensed by the State of California. Established in 1950, VPNS is one of the oldest co-op preschools in Northern California. We offer a unique and nurturing environment that fosters the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children from 2 years, 6 months to kindergarten age.

Our Philosophy

Our mission is to provide the community with quality, play-based education for the child and parent while working in cooperation with teachers to stimulate and enrich the minds of our children. We believe that play is the work of children, and through our play-based environment, children develop physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially. Our experienced and caring staff create a supportive and culturally diverse environment that encourages children to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace.

Our Services

We offer a range of services designed to meet the needs of our students and their families. Our 2 and 4-day classes are available, with 3-hour classes running from 9:15 am to 12:15 pm. Our programs are designed to be flexible and accommodating, with a focus on providing a nurturing and stimulating environment that prepares children for kindergarten and beyond. Our experienced teachers and staff are dedicated to providing a high-quality education that meets the individual needs of each child.

Our History

In 1950, a group of dedicated mothers formed the Vallejo Parent Nursery School, with the goal of providing a cooperative preschool experience for children in the community. Through numerous fundraising efforts, the building we currently reside in was opened in 1966 and is the only cooperative preschool in Vallejo, and one of the finest facilities in Northern California. In 2019, VPNS opened a sister cooperative preschool in American Canyon, the American Canyon Co-op Preschool, expanding our reach and providing more opportunities for families in the region.

Our Facilities

Our facilities are designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for our students. Our VPNS site, located at 500 Amador Street, Vallejo, and our ACCP site, located at 60 Benton Way, American Canyon, are both state-of-the-art facilities that provide ample space for our students to learn and grow. Our facilities are equipped with the latest technology and resources, and our staff are dedicated to providing a high-quality education that meets the individual needs of each child.
