The Community Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CCBVI) has been a beacon of support and empowerment for people with visual impairments in San Joaquin County for over 70 years. We believe that vision loss should not limit anyone's potential, and with the right tools and resources, people with visual impairments can live fulfilling and independent lives.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower people who are blind or visually impaired to:
- Improve and sustain their capabilities
- Re-establish purpose and self-esteem
- Lead independent lives in society
Our Services
We offer a wide range of services and programs designed to meet the diverse needs of our clients, including:
Adult Programs
- Vision rehabilitation and learning to cope with vision loss
- Training in communication skills, daily living skills, and orientation and mobility
- Personalized support and guidance
Youth Programs
- Building self-confidence and self-esteem
- Developing essential skills for daily life
- Familiarizing young people with the tools and resources they need to achieve their full potential
Supporting Individuals at Every Stage of Life
- Young Adults Graduating & Advancing (YAGA) program for young adults with visual impairments
- Programs specifically designed for Older Individuals who are Blind (55+)

We strongly believe in fostering a supportive and inclusive community. We offer opportunities for:
