LEI Engineering & Surveying of Oregon is a full-service civil engineering, land surveying, forest engineering, and forestry firm that has been operating throughout the Pacific Northwest and Southeast Alaska for more than three decades. Founded in 1981, we provide professional services to the private and public sectors, including federal, state, and local government agencies. Our corporate office is located in Salem, Oregon.
Our Background
Our company was founded in 1981 by Dallas C. Hemphill, P.E., ACF, and was known at the time as Logging Engineering International, Inc. (LEI). Under Mr. Hemphill's leadership, we quickly became a leader in the logging engineering and forest industry, gaining a reputation for providing unparalleled logging systems and transportation engineering services throughout the West Coast and offshore.
Our Growth and Diversification
In the early 2000s, we began diversifying our professional services by adding a licensed land surveyor to our team of professionals. As with our track record in the forest industry, we quickly gained a reputation for excellence in the field of land surveying. Under new ownership, which included President Greg J. Zartman, P.E., who had worked under Mr. Hemphill's leadership for more than a decade, we ushered in continued growth and diversification by adding the field of civil engineering to our list of professional services in 2007.
